Draft for review by the organisers’ data-protection and legal focal points before publication. Last updated 30 October 2026.
Who we are
The Malawi Creative Economy & Investment Forum 2026 is organised by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, UNDP Malawi and Standard Bank Malawi (“the organisers”). Questions about this notice can be sent to [info@forum-email].
What we collect
When you register for the Forum we ask for:
- Your name, email address, phone number, area of residence, district and country.
- Your national ID number (participants from Malawi) or passport number (international delegates), used only to verify identity at accreditation.
- A passport-style photograph, used for your Forum badge and visible only to the organising team.
- Demographic information (gender, age group) used only in aggregate to report on who the Forum reaches.
- Your organisation, official designation, how you are attending, your creative sector, years of experience and the Forum track you are most interested in.
- Your motivation for attending and what you plan to do after the Forum.
- Dietary requirements and any accessibility support you need, so the venue team can prepare.
- Whether you would like exhibition space and what you plan to exhibit.
If you write to us, submit a paper or subscribe to updates, we keep the message and contact details you provide.
Why we use it
- To review registrations against the published criteria and tell you the outcome.
- To plan the venue, catering, accessibility support and the exhibition.
- To send you practical information before, during and after the Forum.
- To report, in aggregate and without identifying you, on participation and outcomes.
We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Who sees it
Registration data is seen by the organising team and, where necessary for logistics, by the venue and catering providers. Aggregate statistics may be shared with Forum partners. The website and registration database are hosted on secure third-party infrastructure that processes data on the organisers’ behalf.
How long we keep it
Registration records are kept for the Forum and its follow-up reporting, then deleted or anonymised [within 12 months of the Forum, to be confirmed]. Mailing-list subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or withdraw a registration, by writing to [info@forum-email]. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link.
Photography and recording
Sessions and showcases are photographed and may be recorded for the Forum report and communications. See the terms of participation for how to let us know if you do not wish to be photographed.
